For fans of the ongoing Dauntless experience, the game is officially supporting next-generation consoles this week. While the game is playable via backwards compatibility across both Xbox & PlayStation, a native version for the respected systems launches on Thursday. Previously, the game welcomed a Nintendo Switch version abruptly in the past, but, there is no news on any improvements for that version of the game.

In terms of the new versions for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, users are to find a bevy of improvements to the overall quality for Dauntless. Namely, 4K dynamic rendering is the first on the list. 60 frames per second is also noted as well alongside improved loading times for the game cutting 90 percent of the waiting. Other visual improvements includes new texture work and better lighting mechanisms as well.

You can watch the next-gen trailer for Dauntless in the video below:

“This launch brings seamless cross-generation and full cross-platform support to Dauntless across seven different platforms!” Phoenix Labs said. “After the launch, PlayStation 5 players can claim and download the enhanced version of Dauntless for free from the PlayStation Store. Players on Xbox Series X|S will automatically receive the enhanced version of Dauntless via Smart Delivery.

“If you are already playing Dauntless on a console or PC, there will be no need to start over on your next-gen console. True cross-progression means that your progress carries over across all platforms you play on. With full cross-play, it also does not matter which platform your friends play on — everyone can slay Behemoths together.”

What are you most excited about for Dauntless receiving next-generation support?

Dauntless is out now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
