Many of the recent Xbox and Windows 10 co-launches such as Halo Wars 2, Gears of War 4, and Forza Horizon 3 have been released on Pc exclusively through the Windows Store which is backed by Microsoft’s Xbox Live service. While many PC gamers may have friends on Xbox Live, the biggest barrier still standing in more die-hard PC gamers is the Windows Store’s more locked down games.
Steam, on the other hand, has seen delayed releases of some of the games that were originally planned as Xbox and Windows 10 exclusives like Quantum Break. December saw the Xbox and Windows 10 release of Dead Rising 4, and March looks to hold the game for Steam players.
The game, which some felt was just another entry into the Dead Rising franchise and didn’t likely sell as well as Microsoft was planning or hoping on Windows 10. The game is slated for a March 14 release on the more popular Steam, with pre-purchases being open as of today. If players pre-purchase, they’ll get a 20% discount as well as the X-Fists Exo Suit Weapon to help usher in Frank as the zombie-punching apocalypse. The Deluxe Edition will also be offered with a 15% discount if pre-purchased.
