Microsoft during this afternoon’s Xbox Games Showcase disclosed that Bungie’s 2017 sequel, Destiny 2 will be coming to Xbox Game Pass later this fall. While a specific date was not provided, this September will offer owners of the service the base game alongside the current expansions that are already available for purchase. That includes 2018’s Forsaken and last year’s Shadowkeep.
In addition to the reveal, the firm also shared that the upcoming expansion Beyond Light will also be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers for free when it ships later this November. While focused on the fall-scheduled add-on, Microsoft also presented a new trailer for Beyond Light.

Of course, this wouldn’t be much of a next-generation showcase without Microsoft elaborating on the Xbox Series X version of Destiny 2. Bungie previously stated that the newer systems can expect updated versions for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 later on. Microsoft reiterates on the announcement by solidifying that the first-person shooter looter will offer 60 frames per second performance with 4K resolution on the new unit.
Of course, it will also include cross-platform play for players between different systems. Smart Delivery will also play a big role as players who purchased the game already on Xbox One can expected a more optimized version of Destiny 2 on their console when it comes available. Project xCloud was also mentioned to expect Destiny 2 support later on as well this autumn.
