PlatinumGames regarding the studio’s current titles in development, we are only aware of two titles that are reportedly aimed for a 2019 release with Astral Chain and Bayonetta 3. Much on what the August-set title will offer was showcased in an earlier Nintendo Direct back in February, but for the third installment starring the Umbra Witch has yet to really unveil anything besides knowing the game is in development.
According to a recent interview between Studio Head Atsushi Inaba and gaming outlet Video Game Chronicles, it looks that PlatinumGames is taking a different approach when it comes to how Bayonetta 3 will be developed.
“With Bayonetta 1 and 2 we had basically an orthodox development process, at least for us,” Inaba tells the website. “Built up the drama and the pacing chronologically. For Bayonetta 3, we can say that we learned enough from making the past two games to change our process in a way that’s different to what I just described”
Detailing which aspect of the game Inaba is discussing, it either being the pace of the game’s plot or the developer’s process towards creating the title, we are left unsure which exactly might be altered this time around. For how this will affect the experience of the upcoming title, Inaba explained that fans might “recognize this as well.”
What are your thoughts on the change of development rhythm Platinum is taking for Bayonetta 3?
Bayonetta 3 as of yet has not listed release date, but will be releasing exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
