Devil May Cry V: Special Edition Announced With Playable Vergil Included, Coming This November For Next-Gen Consoles

When it arrived last March, Capcom’s Devil May Cry V certainly stood in a prominent spot for being one of the most exhilarating releases for this console generation. Looking at the game at all fronts, the title stoop at peak performance and also impressed many visually with the photorealistic texturing and character models. It was almost as if the game was readied for a next-generation version as well.

Or so that was though until after the game’s release that Capcom Producer Matt Walker disclosed the month following Devil May Cry V’s release that he shared development has officially ceased for the blockbuster release. The details came as a surprise as a few playable characters in prior entries were not included in the latest installment.

Howbeit, it looks to only be a distraction as the firm today during the recent PlayStation 5 showcase announced Devil May Cry V: Special Edition. You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:

From what you can gather in the jam-packed trailer, Capcom shares that the brother of Dante, Vergil, will be joining the game in this new version as a playable character. Despite Walker even mentioning ahead of the initial release for Devil May Cry V – he states that there is no add-on underway for the title. But now that looks to be untrue as he will be coming to the game as an added DLC.

The add-on is said to arrive for current-generation versions with an undisclosed date. In addition to that, the Special Edition will also feature raytraced reflections and even a ‘High Framerate Mode’ pushing the game’s performance to 120 frames per second on next-generation hardware. The Special Edition also includes Turbo Mode to increase the game’s speed 30 percent and Legendary Dark Knight Mode increasing enemy count on the screen also.
