Following a recent forum post over a week ago, Emperor Palpatine was temporarily removed along with a list of other bugs present in Star Wars: Battlefront II.
In the post, some problems that are already fixed is the challenges being delayed in the main menu and receiving several notifications when finishing a challenge. Now players shouldn’t have a delay for their challenges and will not be spammed that they completed an challenge.
Following with other problems that is planned to be fixed in the future is stormtroopers unable to board the shuttle in the Ewok Hunt gametype, Hardlock stutter for hero Starfighters and a complete update for the stamina mechanic.
Majorly what most are curious about is playable Hero Emperor Palpatine being temporarily removed due to being overpowered with his lightning ability. A patch was released back on June 28, but it seems to have made things worse and a kill switch was placed for Palpatine until a hotfix is ready with solutions to this and the other problems listed. Stated by Community Manager Ben Walke on Palpatine’s temporary removal:
We plan to execute our Kill Switch (KS) for him. This means he will be removed from the game. He will be disabled until a hotfix can be deployed. We don’t take this decision lightly, but we feel it is in the best interest for everyone until a fix can be deployed.
For when or if we see the Emperor return to the Battlefront was unknown, but in the case this was for the better good player, for now, will be able to enjoy the title without depending on hopes for a better nerf.
