Just this week, developer Codemasters revealed that the team would be hanging its coat for 2019’s Dirt Rally 2.0 as the last segment of seasonal content has shipped for the latest racing entry. The studio revealed that the team responsible for Rally will start to shift focus for a new project whilst a separate studio is working on a separate title which was not disclosed at the time.

Now during today’s Inside Xbox online presentation, Microsoft handed the torch over to Codemasters to reveal Dirt 5. You can watch the full announcement trailer in the video below:

The latest mainline installment is said to feature some of the most notable raceways across the globe to feature the most ambitious experience of off-road racing in the series. “Blaze a trail across the most iconic routes in the world. Drive the widest roster of cars from rally icons, to trucks, to GT heroes and lots more,” the brief synopsis for the title shares.

During the latter segment of the livestreamed show, Microsoft spoke with Codemasters to discuss some of the project’s new implementations for the upcoming title. One exciting reveal happened to be the base campaign for the game Development Director Robert Karp shares that recognized voice actors Troy Baker and Nolan North will both be involved with voicing the starring cast for Dirt 5’s career mode.

Another exciting addition for fans of the series is that the fifth installment will feature four-player splitscreen for the first time in the history of the franchise. Many fans happened to be very eager to see the day come and now players will just have to be patients as the game will be arriving this coming fall. Players can also expect the game to be supported for Smart Delivery for those planning on buying an Xbox Series X.

Dirt 5 is said to ship sometime in October 2020 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
