Disintegration Studio V1 Interactive Announces Team To Shut Down

While Halo originally debuted roughly two decades ago and spanning across generations of Xbox with prominent sequels to follow its trail, developers that originally kick started the franchise primarily moved on from the IP. Although some are currently involved with Halo Infinite, like Joseph Staten, others either developed Destiny as Bungie left development or moved on to their own ventures.

For the sake of one particular Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto, he most recently delivered Disintegration leading V1 Interactive. However, the game was met with average reception and did not meet what many viewed to be a potential competitor to Destiny. In fact, the studio back in November officially shut off the multiplayer component for Disintegration.

Now on Monday, V1 Interactive announces that the studio will be closing its doors. Less than a year since the arrival of Disintegration, the team will be no longer.

In a separate tweet, Marcus Lehto had this to share on the announcement: “At V1, our priority has been to the wellbeing of our employees. We’ve been transparent with them about the state of things for months and are making this decision now so they still have ample time to search for new jobs while being supported by our studio.”

It is yet another upsetting view to see as a firm with very much potential to kick off a franchise is no longer operating. Even with legacy teams that stand behind individuals that are responsible for namely series, this is certainly not the first of its kind. Back in May 2018, Bosskey Productions’ lead Cliff Bleszinski, responsible for Gears of War, shared his firm would be closing up after its sour performance.
