In its element, Purple Lamp Studios offers a retooling for nostalgic games from our childhoods. The most recent example of this is SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake. In our review for the game, we wrote: “Despite some of the games issues, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake gives you a unique SpongeBob experience we have yet to see,” giving the title a score of 6/10.
Looking at other title to head in the developer’s way, it was quick to dismantle any hopes of the same treatment for the Shrek 2 movie game. However, another beloved title is being remade by Purple Lamp instead. During a previous Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that Disney Epic Mickey is coming with an entirely new coat of paint for the newer consoles.
Recently, it was announced the game is set to release later this September across Xbox, PlayStation, PC, and, of course, Nintendo Switch. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:
