DLCs, Remasters, and Expansion Packs are eligible in all categories for The Game Awards

The Game Awards takes place in less than a month and nominations are set to be revealed soon. This year there will likely be some shock to the nominees across some categories. According to The Game Awards FAQ, DLCs, Expansion Packs, Remakes, Remasters, and new game seasons are eligible across all categories.

For example, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, which was a major expansion for the already GOTY title could win Game of The Year. Of course, the nominees are all up to the jury, which submits their list of top games to The Game Awards.

The Game Awards goes live on December 12, 2024, at 7:30 PM ET / 4:30 PM PT.
