For Sea of Thieves players, you might be asking where the next major update for Rare’s evergrowing pirate open-world title is. While the studio has been hard at work to bring new content to the game, the firm revealed that last month’s update would be merged into September’s scheduled additions. The decision was due to the tight work of plans as team members work from home.
Howbeit, players were left entertained with the previous Haunted Shores update that shipped back in July. But now, with the shores of September already being met, Rare is ready to present the next update for Sea of Thieves. Announcing Vault of the Ancients, this new update will feature a whole new string of quests to follow in favor for players to uncover the riches of the West Indies.
You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:
“Take on a Treasure Vault Voyage from the Gold Hoarders’ representative at your nearest Outpost, and you’ll be given a Golden Wayfinder compass – this will help you find the pieces of the map to the hidden Vault Key,” the overview reads for the newest update. “Once you have the key, the choice is yours: do you deliver it into the hands of the Gold Hoarders and claim your reward?
“Or risk using it to unlock the Treasure Vault, where you have a chance to gather up even greater riches and escape before the built-in traps take you out?” In addition to the game’s newest endeavor for a golden afterlife, Rare also announces that companion dogs will also be included as well in the latest update.
Similar to the Ships of Fortune update back in May with the addition of cats, the newest slew of furry friends will be by your side until you reach the end of your pirating days. The Pirate Emporium also faces new additions such as the Shrouded Ghost Hunter Ship set, Shrouded Ghost Hunter Outfit, and matching skin for the Blunderbust weapon. There is also a new selection of emotes to compliment the addition of canine companions.
