Don’t get too excited for Borderlands 3, or whatever the next mainline installment in the series is called on the Nintendo Switch at the moment. Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford talked about it on Twitter.
“I do not see that as happening,” he said to a fan who asked about a Switch version of Borderlands 3. “We were talking to Nintendo, but that stopped for some reason. They have other priorities.”
The Borderlands series is published by 2K Games, whose parent company is Take-Two Interactive, which are one of the many 3rd party companies supporting the Switch. They have NBA2k18 coming to the console this year.
During the last Pax East in April 2016 Gearbox confirmed a new Borderlands will be coming, but did not specify if it’d be 3 or something different.
