E3 2019: Borderlands 2 Connecting DLC Announced, Available Now

The previously rumored connecting DLC between Borderlands 2 and the upcoming Borderlands 3 ended up being true as it have officially been announced as well as simultaneously launching the same day as previously rumored at the Microsoft press conference.

In the new downloadable content story, the vault hunter must help Lilith retrieve the vault map while a new toxic gas has began flooding throughout Pandora. Featuring new weapons, areas, and bosses that were not in the base title. Though the gas does harmful things to you, it does other dangerous things that affects enemies that inhabit the wastes of the planet.

Commander Lilith & The Fight for Sanctuary unlike previous DLC does offer a new tier of loot beyond Legendary which will add an even greater spin on better weapons than previous. As well as coinciding with the increased level cap that launched with the free story content too ( level 72 bumped up to level 80).

Unlike the previously reported Steam leak, the DLC is only available to those who Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, excluding those who planned to play on last gen hardware or PlayStation VR.

It is also noteworthy mentioning that Gearbox showcasing the new content at Microsoft’s press conference solidifies yet another title the Rectify Gaming reported last year to be under the company’s market rights plan for the Xbox platform.

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is out now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
