Today EA announces that they’ll be starting a Competitive Gaming Division with Peter Moore as the head and working with senior vice president Todd Sitrin as well. With this change, it’ll be putting EA in control of eSports for their major titles like Madden, Battlefield and FIFA. Similar to other eSport events, their events will be streamed live also. Even though both FIFA Interactive World Cup and ESL One Battlefield 4 championships are still on the line for this and next year, EA plans to merge competitions for their games to focus it more on their own broadcasting platform. Very similar to Activision starting it’s own Call Of Duty World League, more publishers are beginning to figure out that the competitive scene for gaming is better used than compared to how they’re previously controlling it.
