Elder Scrolls Onlne released last year on PC and just this past Summer on both Xbox One and PS4. Also in the works at Bethesda is some game you may have heard of called Fallout 4. At Gamescom, VP of Marketing Pete Hines spoke with Dualshockers and stated that as a result of both of these games that Elder Scrolls VI isn’t going to come for a “very long time”. According to HInes, everyone at the studio is working on Fallout 4 as we speak and that they are 100% in on it to make sure the game releases on time.

Although this may disappointing, it does make total sense. If you remember at E3, Fallout 4 is going to have a vast number of customization options for weapons as well as the ability to completely change the landmarks, buildings and game environments to essentially make your own game within a game. All these options are relatively new and will surely require more programming and testing then normal. With such an iconic franchise such as Fallout, it’s understandable that Bethesday is prioritizing it over any new titles.

As far as guessing on Elder Scrolls VI, who knows? It’s been about five years already and we currently have Bethesday working on ESO and DLC for that as well as completing development and DLC for Fallout 4. As great as a followup to Skyrim would be, let’s focus on the brilliance that Bethesda is putting out now and enjoy those. Good things come to those who wait. I mean, hey, Fallout 4 is finally coming, right?
