Elgato Gaming, maker of the Elgato capture cards that Xbox and PlayStation owners use to record and broadcast their gameplay, have unveiled a new product meant to aid a broadcaster in creating high-quality productions. The product, called Stream Deck, is a set of 15 programmable buttons for in-stream management.
Stream Deck allows broadcasters to assign custom tasks to each button, ranging from a simple on-screen overlay popping up or making a noise, to tweeting out a stream update and showing current Twitch viewers to keep all eyes on the production rather than the chat window. Stream Deck can also plug into OBS and Elgato’s own game capture software all while it “automatically detects your scenes, media, and audio sources,” according to the product launch page.
According to a linked Amazon page for the product, Elgato will be launching the Stream Deck on May 15 for $150 USD. Stream Deck is an interesting product, especially if a broadcaster has a lot of keyboard shortcuts and steps to get a broadcast going full-steam. The product page also notes that the Stream Deck will work with Windows 10 (64-bit) and Mac OS 10.11 or newer. If we learn more prior to launch, we’ll keep you updated. Until then, stay tuned to Rectify Gaming for the latest.
