[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Have you ever just wanted to explore deep space? Well then, Elite Dangerous may be the game for you. If you’re a PS4 fan and have been wanting a epic space sim for a while i suggest picking this game up, i don’t think we’ll be getting another space sim on PS4 in a while.

PS4 PRO SUPPORT: Currently the game does not have a 4k Mode on Pro, however the devs still support the Pro. At this moment the game has two settings a better graphics mode which they say is equal to PC Ultra settings, and a performance mode which has better FPS (or more stable FPS). The devs have stated both modes still run more smoothly then the standard PS4 which is interesting to say the least. As for the standard PS4 (i have never played on it) however the devs have claimed it’s comparable to the Xbox One version.

GRAPHICS: The graphics look really good textures look to be solid the lighting is fantastic too and that’s playing in performance mode! While playing in graphics mode that’s when the game really shines, everything in the game looks stunning! The biggest change for me is FPS and Lighting. That’s what i think you’ll notice the most when switching back and fourth between the better graphics and performance options on the Pro. Its up to the player really. For example while i’m flying in space i prefer the better performance, but when i l’m landed on a planet/asteroid i prefer graphics to make the game shine more! If i take screenshots i’ll also switch to better graphics to get the best picture possible!

VR SUPPORT: Sadly as of right now there is no VR Support on PS4, and there is no news on when its coming however the devs have stated they will support PSVR.

GAMEPLAY/CONTROLS: Now usually i wont talk about the controls however this game i feel like i need too, so lets get that out of the way first, i highly recommend looking at your controls in the options menu to further both your knowledge on how to control your ship and to get a better understanding of the gameplay i also suggest doing all the tutorials. Yes i know its annoying but this game does have a pretty steep learning curve, after all it is a space sim. Trust me it will be worth it this way you’re not completely lost when you jump into the actual universe!
The gameplay is very fun, its slower paced so don’t expect a Call of Duty in space. When you do get into dogfights it gets really intense and pretty difficult when you’re first starting off, but stick with it and i promise you as you get better the game gets more fun as you learn how to play. The cool stuff about this game is you can do tons of stuff to earn currency, be a pirate, bounty hunter, miner, or a trader. Its up to you! I really do like this game a lot, i do have a few complaints though, like sometimes when you exit or enter in hyperspace it lags really badly or freezes. I would love to see a few things added to the game as well like much larger ships, ships you can walk around, also FPS combat where you can board other peoples ship. I think that would be really awesome, one last think i’d like to see is planets with atmosphere and more stuff to do and find on planets because right now there isn’t all that much to do on planets.

Conclusion: Elite Dangerous is an awesome space simulator game that you can dump tons of hours into, and with it being the only space sim on console i say it’s worth a buy. There are plenty of missions to embark on and you can play with friends and start exploring the galaxy together. I’d have to give this game an 8/10.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][review_summary positives=”-Graphics
