Last week, Gearbox Software showcased the first gameplay trailer for Borderlands 3 at an event hosted by the developer. And while many were jumping on the debacle surrounding microstransactions and optional cosmetic items for purchase, VG24/7 talked with Lead Designer Matt Cox revolving around post-launch content for the September-aimed title.
Cox while unable to detail specifically what the after release downloadable content will be exactly, he did share that there will be endgame raids to be added along with story-focused expansions as well, four to be correct. Stating that more information will be shared this coming E3.
“We’re going to be releasing more details about the endgame around E3,” Cox told VG24/7. “Like any other Borderlands game, we will have four story-based DLCs.”
Adding on to the conversation, the Lead Designer also mentioned that the coming raids will be accompanied by seasonal events that will release throughout the course of the year after the game drops this coming September. “The details on how that shakes out will be announced later, but there’s plenty of endgame.”
Previously, it was revealed that Borderlands 3 will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for one year following with the game’s release on Steam and other PC storefronts in 2020.
Borderlands 3 will be out on September 13, 2019 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
