The upcoming title in the Fallout universe Fallout 76, has been on a rollercoaster of emotions regarding the downloadable client’s size requirement and stability. According to PlayStation Universe, the Day One patch for the approaching title will bring the complete install to nearly 100 GB.
As the base game is already rounding around 45 GB, the launch day patch will be an additional 54.6 GB which will include a list of improvements noted from the beta sessions previously hosted for the online only title. With the overall install being around 100 GB, 99.6 GB to be exact, this will have players with limited save space to decide what games will be sacrificed for the soon to release title.
Not to mention that the title will most likely receive future updates to the game to improve a stable experience, fans will have to prepare for more patches following the game’s launch. As we already have faced this problem with Red Dead Redemption 2, it’s almost a necessity to own an external drive for those who still own base 500 GB consoles as these titles will take about 1/5th of the internal save space.
With the patch exceeding the base game’s download size, hopefully we will see a resolution to the bug that uninstalled the entire client that countless players face during the B.E.T.A..
Fallout 76 is set to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 14, 2018.
