In what many fans are still hoping to be a belated April Fool’s Day joke from Sony Interactive Entertainment with the indefinite delay of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II and Camouflaj’s Marvel’s Iron Man VR continues to be more real than we could have anticipated. This decision is drawn by the unexpected affect left by the looming novel coronavirus that continue to strangle society.
While the choice to hold off on releasing both games this coming May is assumed due to the work-from-home elements subjected to the developers, Sony Interactive Entertainment shared that the timing is not beneficial to the firm and will release the titles at a later and more opportune time for the company.
Now nearly a week has gone by and both games have already been delisted from the PlayStation Store. Reported by PlayStation Lifestyle, the PlayStation Support page suggests that those who pre-ordered either game prior to the indefinite hold are subjected to a refund if done for a digital copy.
This comes from the corresponding discovery on the PlayStation Store which reads “Unable to Find This Page” when searching for either The Last of Us Part II or Marvel’s Iron Man VR. The website now withholding the ability for users to pre-order either virtual iteration for naughty Dog’s sequel or the virtual reality game entails that those who already have will receive their payment back.
The PlayStation-focused outlet went to the degree of Sony’s pursuit of potential online-only versions for The Last of Us Part II, but clarify that the decision has yet to be made by figures at the studio. Even more, this would still not benefit fans globally due to limited access of internet in the current state we live in, PlayStation Lifestyle says.
Did you digitally pre-order either title?
The Last of Us Part II and Marvel’s Iron Man VR is listed for PlayStation 4.
