In the past week or two, chatter has emerged surrounding recognized actor Giancarlo Esposito as he shared to be working on a new role for a video game. In the interview he spoke during, Esposito did not disclose what project he was involved with nor did he even spare the team/publisher responsible for said title either. So fans were left to speculate what Esposito has underway to add to his IMDB.
However, it wasn’t too long after the initial reporting that Esposito was told to be featured in the next, unannounced Far Cry title. Marking the sixth entry in the series, Esposito was told by GameReactor that the actor would be in the new project – presumably as the leading antagonist for the coming game. Elaborated even more, it was told the game would receive a proper reveal this coming Sunday, July 12.
But before the date had even arrived for the Ubisoft Forward virtual showcase, a listing for the title has already leaked online. Users online have uncovered the game’s presence through the Hong Kong PlayStation Store sharing an image of the actor and disclosing the release date for the title. Slated for February 18 next year, there is also description that goes along with the listing giving a synopsis of the story (thank you Eurogamer for translating).
This new installment is told to be the “largest Far Cry playground to date;” taking place in the fiction country of Yara, the universe’s version of Cuba. “Employ makeshift weapons, vehicles, and Amigos, the new Fangs for Hire to burn the tyrannical regime to the ground.” Players will pose as Dani Rojas – a rebellion inhabitant of the totalitarian nation against the dictatorship of their own home nation.
The listing finishes by sharing that the game will be coming to current hardware and the pair of next-generation consoles as well. In that, PlayStation 4 owners are said to receive a free upgrade to the new console when the game arrives. Presumably the same is expected to be established for Xbox Series X users as well via Smart Delivery from Ubisoft.
