Although the announcement for the Halo Television Show was made back in 2013, it was not until this past December that an official full-trailer was revealed for the new TV series. Despite the amount of waiting, the new show aired this past March on Paramount+ delivering a new take on Master Chief and the Halo universe. It was shared prior to the airing that the new tale will be slated under the ‘Silver Timeline’ which is separate from the game series.

Additionally, Paramount shared plans for the Halo Television Series are anticipating for it to be a hit. Enough so to greenlit a second season before the first even released. Following the airing for the Halo Television Series, Paramount revealed it was the service’s most-viewed release to date. It was last month that Paramount reflected on that success indicating a full-on franchise is underway for Halo in this medium.

Now on Wednesday, Paramount revealed that filming has officially commenced for Season 2 for the Halo Television Series. The announcement was made on Twitter with an image of the starring cast in costume in Iceland.

Overall, the Halo Television Series is a mixed bag for viewers. Beloved fans and new watchers found the new show to be a breath of fresh air for the series. However, others under the same demographic also view the Halo Television Series to be a step backwards alienating the property from what many found from the source material.

Despite the criticisms of the show upon release, Master Chief voice actor Steven Downes pressed his appreciation for Pablo Schreiber’s performance as Spartan-117. On Twitter then, he said “The overwhelming opinion among the Halo faithful at Lexington Comicon is the Halo TV show is a hit! Count me among the believers.” You can read the full report by heading here.
