One of the biggest announcements from Square Enix closing 2018 last year was announcing that some fan-favorite titles from the Final Fantasy franchise will be receiving ports for Xbox One as well as the Nintendo Switch. In the announcement, the game’s that were showcased to receive a port were:

  • Final Fantasy IX
  • Final Fantasy X/X2
  • Final Fantasy VII

Since the announcement, all but FF VII title was revealed to drop on both platforms coming this April. Today on Microsoft’s store page, users discovered that 1997 cult classic has been listed to release in less than a month. This could be a hiccup on Microsoft’s side assuming Square Enix planned to host an official reveal for when the title will drop on the platform, but this is still exciting nonetheless.

For Nintendo’s console, it’s best to guess that the game will be coming to the Switch the same day as the other Final Fantasy titles also share the same release date in the following month.

What platform do you plan on returning to these memorable titles on? Let us know in the comments below.

Final Fantasy VII is set to drop currently for Xbox One on March 26, 2019.
