Final Fantasy VII Remake Box Art Officially Revealed

This past E3 back in June was packed to the brim with information regarding the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake during publisher Square Enix’s annual press conference during the event in Los Angeles. Showcasing a full-length demo, the company also revealed that the reworked title will be arriving in early March next year.

Atop of the slated release date for the reimagined game, Square Enix also revealed the hefty priced 1st Class Edition for the upcoming title. And while the pre-order bundle does include a specialized steelbook, the case it comes in still used the placeholder image for the game that it was given since the project’s announcement back in 2015.

It was until this week that Square Enix officially released what the box art will look for the remade title, which you can view below:

While this is not the first debut of the box art of the game since Square Enix did showcase the cover earlier this month during the Tokyo Game Show in Japan, this is however an official release for the case art recapping what was presented during the yearly show in Tokyo. Fan of the original 1997 game will instantly recognize the cover to hold a close resemblance to the original cover for the original PlayStation title.

Upon the presenting of the final product’s box art, Square Enix’s Senior Product Marketing Manager Neal Pabon disclosed other additions that will be included in the game when releasing next year. Such as Classic Mode which strategic-heavy players can use as a substitute if preferred not to dodge and counter attacks when in battle.

Pabon also brushes upon Summons as the will be a core gameplay feature that will be returning for the remake. Discussing about summons like Materia who can enter helpful creatures to use in battle or Infrit who combats with his special abilities and initiates his ultimate attack Hellfire when reaching zero health. The squats mini-game is also said to have been reiterated for modern hardware and to play similar to the original version of the side activity.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will be coming to PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020.
