At the end of E3 this year, Square Enix launched an escape game tour based on their award winning game, Final Fantasy XIV. Called, Final Fantasy XIV Trials of Bahamut, the escape room will head to eight different cities across the U.S. such as Chicago, New York, and Orlando. The escape game is being handled by SCRAP Entertainment who are based out of San Francisco.
The Trials of Bahamut is not your typical escape game either due what the escape game entails. First and foremost, you and five other people are placed at a table to try and start piecing the puzzle together, the kicker being that your group is only one of many in this large room trying to save the world. If you are by yourself though, SCRAP will work to pair you up with other people so you can play this escape game. The sense of depth the game provides is amazing as well because you get to pick your class to play as like, Paladin, Black Mage, or Thief, just to name a few. If you get stuck while playing the game with your friends do not fret as there will be a hint station that you can go to so you may further progress in the escape game. In addition, Trials of Bahamut features original story content with such being in-game footage that SCRAP had created to use for the introduction and conclusion to the game.
Upon completion of the escape game, you will receive a raffle ticket that gives you a chance to win a Trials of Bahamut poster that has been signed by Naoki Yoshida, the director and producer of Final Fantasy XIV. However, if you fail to win the raffle, you can purchase an unsigned version of the poster at the store they will have on site.
The next stop on the Trials of Bahamut escape game tour will be at the Anime Expo in Los Angeles, California from July 1-3.
