Just a week ago, Portkey Games along with Niantic released Harry Potter: Wizards Unite into the public for the App Store, Samsung Galaxy Store, and Google Play. Though a good amount of mobile users are also fans of the J.K. Simmons book series, the game did not surpass compared to the surge of players that Pokémon Go brought in when launching in Summer 2016.

But nonetheless, Niantic announced that the new game will already be receiving its first fan Festival at the end of August later this Summer in Indianapolis.

As like users for the Nintendo-themed augmented reality, mobile title, these fan events are nothing new as players gather together in selected locations to take part in community-focused battles against greater foes from the respected universe. Weirdly enough though, it looks that Niantic choose an awkward time to pick the event as it also takes place the same time as Labor Day Weekend as well as the video game-centered convention, PAX West in Seattle.

Looking at the choice to organize the fest, other events might overshadow the wizard get-together and underdo what the event could achieve if not during the more occupied weekend. Niantic did not share for the reasoning to choose the same weekend as the other events.

In other Wizard United-related news, Portkey Games announced that as part of the initial promise at launch, more regions will be receiving the game. Countries like Brazil, Canada, Ireland, and Mexico are part of the list: you can view all supported regions here.

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is out now for Android and iOS device.
