Recently I was invited to attend a Special Event with EA Sports FC25 Producers for them to showcase the newest installment in the FC Series of games, FC25.

To start the Event, Senior Producer Sam Rivera, hit the stage to let everyone attending know that FC 25 will launch September 27th 2024, with Early Access starting September 20th 2024 for Ultimate Edition Players.
Immediately after announcing the launch dates, Sam introduced everyone to the first look of FC25 in a Trailer for the game, the trailer shown however was not in Game Footage as the game at the time of the event was still in an “In Progress” State.
The New Trailer showed off cinematic gameplay for different things in the game such as a Player taking a Penalty Shot, and some crazy moves and slides from the players. During the end of the Trailer, we see a quick flash of some demonstrations of some new mechanics and foundations for FC25 called FC IQ, which is a new foundational pillar that sits alongside HyperMotionV and PlayStyles to round out a comprehensive and authentic gameplay experience and drive further depth to match tactics and positioning. We also got a few graphics showcasing a few of the perks that will be included in the Ultimate Edition of the game which include:
- A Un-tradeable hero player item for your Ultimate Team, which will also receive a “Prime Hero” Version later in November after Launch
- An Un-tradeable Hero or Icon Player for your FC24 Ultimate Team ( which is a bit of a weird perk as most people will be playing the newest year FC25 once launched instead of FC24 ).
- Player/Manager Content Pack which includes 3 icons to use in Player Carrer, which are David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, and Ronaldo Nazario.
- 3850 FC points on Nintendo Switch or 4600 FC points on all other Platforms ( Unsure of why the point difference )
- 1 Player Evolution Slot, which allows you to pick a Striker that is rated 82 or less and improve their rating with Powershot Plus.
After This introductory Trailer, Sam then introduced everyone to the Coverstar of the game, which is Jude Bellingham (Center Midfielder (CM) for Real Madrid ), who is the youngest cover athlete so far.

The Ultimate Edition cover will feature multiple players such as Gianluigi Buffon, Aitana Bonmati, Jude Bellingham, Zidane, and David Beckham.

After a quick behind-the-scenes video of the creation of the Coverart, Sam then gives un more in-depth information about FC IQ and Rush.
As mentioned above FC IQ is a new foundational pillar that sits alongside HyperMotionV and PlayStyles to round out a comprehensive and authentic gameplay experience and drive further depth to match tactics and positioning. While Rush is defined as an exciting and engaging social experience that is integrated across all core game modes, bringing a fast-paced 5v5 experience that emphasizes time on the ball. Rush is meant to give a faster-paced match with Fluid positioning.
During the presentation for Rush, we also learn that it will be played in a Special Arena designed in part with Nike AirZoom, as well as some of the unique features of the Rush Experience, such as:
- Match Duration and Tie Break
- Blue Cards
- AR Coach
- Race to Ball Kickoff
- 1-on-1 Penalty Style
- Attacking Third Offsides
Videos were then shown going over each of these Features and what they look like in-game as well as a more in-depth look at the Nike Airzoom Arena.
After the video ends Sam Rivera welcomed on stage Producer Thomas Caleffi to go even more in-depth about FC IQ. Thomas talks about what went into the AI behind FC IQ and the data that drives it, using tactics and positioning from actual players and matches. I won’t bore you with all the technical jargon that was explained that went into how the AI functions, but this was an interesting presentation on how it all works, and it will be exciting to see it in action, and the hands of players.

After the presentation, and a quick break, Producer Fab Muoio got on stage for a presentation on Gameplay and Match Day Experience. Without going into some secret details that will be revealed at a later time, he shared new gameplay innovations and matchday experiences that will bring you closer to the pitch, as well as things that will help enrich content sharing and introduce unprecedented levels of customization available to players to define their on-pitch experience.

The First main part of Fab’s presentation was talking about the HyperMotion V Technology and its Volumetric Capture technology how it is the foundation for FC IQ, and how it brings different moves and techniques to the game such as Stepping over the ball, Heel Nutmegs and Drag Turns. We also learned some information about Environmental and Weather Effects and how they have been improved such as Wind.
Some of the other things Fab went over are the additions to Living Stadiums, such as adding Authentic Team Mascots that react to the play on the pitch, as well as Active sideline reactions from managers, officials as well as Crowd Reactions. As a Part of this section of the presentation, Fab shared a video of a player interacting with a mascot in their celebration after scoring a goal.
Fab then went into talking about graphics, and how the game will be 60 FPS and 4K upscaling across two graphic modes:
- Enhances Visuals: which includes things such as Ray-traced Ambient Occlusion, Rim Lighting, and Self Shadowing all time of day, 3d Pitch divots and puddles, and Loacl exposure as well as, Cloth Sim on shirt and shorts.
- Favour Resolution: this only includes cloth sim on shorts, self-shadowing in the daytime, and default exposure
There was also a demonstration of the Time of Day progression during a match with the sun setting and the lighting going dark during the second half of a match. To end Fab’s presentation he showed off how player models were created, before heading into another break in presentations before the final Two Presentations.

The Second to last presentation focused on Career Mode and was hosted by Game Design Director, Pete O’Donnell and Producer Andreas Wilsdorf. Andreas started this presentation off by saying Carrer mode is “The Biggest” Update to the game this year. This year the main focus for career mode is on 4 main topics:
- FC IQ
- Live Start Points
- Women’s Football
- Player Career with Icons
A few other features that have been changed or added, but aren’t considered the 4 main focuses include :
- Youth Academy
- Career Customisation
- Player Origins
- New UI and Social Media
Live Start points will affect career mode and help keep it fresh, incorporating Live events based on League and Cup competitions such as the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, Bundesliga, Coppa Italia, and more.
With incorporating more Leagues, we were also told there are now over 160 countries to scout from in the game. We were then given a quick demo of how scouting works and how you can focus on which roles you want to scout for using FC IQ.
After the scouting demo, the presentation switched to showcasing the end of a match stats and player performance screen updates, that showcase each player’s match rating , and things like most blocks, most tackles, most interceptions, and finally the man or woman of the match.

Speaking of Woman, we are then told more about how for the first time, EA SPORTS FC 25 introduces women’s football into Career Mode, featuring the top five women’s leagues for an authentic experience across Manager and Player Career modes.
After introducing the women’s leagues, we quickly then moved into talk about customization, some of these quick settings include :
- Editing/ Managing Transfer restrictions and embargoes
- Scouting and Training Plans
- Financial Takeover
- Difficulty Level
- Board Expectations
We are also introduced to the Match Settings, which include:
- Another toggle for difficulty level
- A Toggle for Match Half Length as well as for Youth Tournament length
- A Toggle for Youth Player Quality
Some of the other settings that were quickly seen as they quickly went over the settings menus were things such as Weather Effects , Sprint Speed, Shot Speed, Injury severity , as well as a toggle for AI Behaviour .
With these changes, we then moved into some of the UI changes, most of the changes to me are just better graphics and making for less confusion and clutter in the UI, I don’t have a solid way to explain these changes without showcasing them, which currently images haven’t been provided to use to showcase these features yet at the time of this post going live.

To end this presentation and before moving to the final one, we see some gameplay of some of the Icons in the game such as Beckham doing shooting and penalty kick practices, and are told who the Day 1 and Pre-order Icons will be, which include :
Day 1 Icons :
- Andrea Pirlo
- Van Nisterlrooy
- Kelly Smith
- Thierry Henry
Pre-order icons include:
- Ronaldo
- Zinedine Zidane
- David Beckham
Finally, we are given an incredibly rushed preview of what is being called “Cranium Technology” which powers the new customization for creating your player models and customizing things such as hairstyle and sculpting of facial features . Part. of the player customization also includes picking their Origin Story from a handful of different options.
As a recap of the presentation, we are reminded again how For the first time, EA SPORTS FC 25 introduces women’s football into Career Mode, featuring the top five women’s leagues for an authentic experience across Manager and Player Career modes, as well as the all-new Live Start Points in Career Mode, which will let players live out the biggest real-life storylines as they happen to navigate key moments like mid-season transfers or managerial shifts. You can tell by the way these were recapped by Pete and Andreas that they are very passionate about career mode.

Finally after yet again another short break, we moved into the final presentation of the FC25 Producer showcase which covers Ultimate Team and Clubs.
To start the final presentation, Producer Karthik Venkateshan and Game Design Director Richard Walz get on stage to go over everything about Ultimate Team and Clubs, which includes the three main topics of Rush, FCIQ, and Community Requests.
A lot of this final presentation was more of a recap of the first main presentation about Rush and FC IQ, however during this final presentation, we get to see how the Companion App works to configure your team and settings for Ultimate Team Rush.
After a demo of the companion app, some of the community-suggested changes were recapped and briefly talked about such as Friendlies Matchmaking , Weekly Reward Revamps, and Relegations.
The biggest change to the weekly rewards is the new point system so draws don’t feel like a waste of time, The below changes are as follows:
- Earn 3 Points for a win
- Earn 1 Point for a Draw
- and 0 Points for a Loss
One of the other major changes is the new combined season pass for Ultimate Team and Clubs, so you don’t feel like you’re falling behind in one by playing more of the other.

To round out the final presentation, Associate Producer Tim Abel joins the stage to go over a few extra things about Clubs in FC25 . Most of this part was focused on the clubhouse social space that connects players and clubs and how to interact with the clubhouse.
Overall the FC25 producer showcase was a great introduction to the changes in FC25 and a great fun event, I Thank EA Sports for inviting me to be a part of this Showcase and learn more about FC25 to share with our readers.
Stay tuned to the site to learn more about FC25 as we move closer to release, as well as actual hands-on impressions and our review of the Final game.
