First Mortal Kombat Movie Trailer Pushes Fatalities To The Frontlines

As 2020 came to a close, the year did surprisingly leave on a good note – long-awaited fans will understand when exactly the coming Mortal Kombat film will hit theaters. In an announcement on Twitter, New Line Cinema & Warner Bros. disclosed the video game-adapted motion picture will be arriving in mid April. Even more the movie will be a box office release through convention theaters and on HBO Max as well.

However, there was still little information on how the movie will actually look thanks to zero trailers on the production. Atop of that, with less than half a year to go, it is understandable to be worried about how the film will perform seeing how little is present. But, the film through Entertainment Weekly issued a near dozen bulk of images ripped from the film which illustrate that the coming picture is not messign around.

Now this week, New Line Cinema announced a trailer will be presented for excited fans and also featured some character posters to quench their thirst until then. On Thursday the first trailer finally went live. You can watch the footage in the video below:

“In ‘Mortal Kombat,’ MMA fighter Cole Young, accustomed to taking a beating for money, is unaware of his heritage—or why Outworld’s Emperor Shang Tsung has sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, an otherworldly Cryomancer, to hunt Cole down. Fearing for his family’s safety, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade at the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking Cole was born with,” the description for the trailer reads.

“Soon, he finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden, an Elder God and the protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark. Here, Cole trains with experienced warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao and rogue mercenary Kano, as he prepares to stand with Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe. But will Cole be pushed hard enough to unlock his arcana—the immense power from within his soul—in time to save not only his family, but to stop Outworld once and for all?”
