Five Nights at Freddy’s Springtrap joins Dead by Daylight

The long-awaited collaboration between Dead by Daylight and Five Nights at Freddy’s is now available as part of the Steam public test build and will be released officially on June 17th. Dead by Daylight introduces Springtrap – The Animatronic – as its newest Killer.

While Springtrap does represent Five Nights at Freddy’s as its most iconic villain, it makes him a perfect fit for The Fog, says Behaviour Interactive. This will make Springtrap playable in a game for the first time.

​In Dead by Daylight, Springtrap’s gameplay presents a Killer that specializes in surveillance, pursuit, and scaring the pants off Survivors in some unexpected ways. He wields a large pizza knife, perfect for terrorizing his victims, and a fire axe that functions as his Power. ​

Throwing the axe creates an area of effect where it lands, revealing Survivors to the Killer. If the axe is lodged in a Survivor’s back with a well-timed throw, they must either remove it themselves or ask for help from an ally. However, if Springtrap removes the axe from a Survivor, it triggers a terrifying jump scare where The Animatronic screams in their face before grabbing the victim for a trip to the hook.

The Dead by Daylight and FNAF crossover also brings the new Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Map, recreated for The Entity’s Realm. Players will be able to explore the pizzeria’s familiar interior. The Front Entrance, Kitchen, Janitor Room, and Dining Hall – with full animatronic band on stage – as well as the Arcade are decorated for a birthday party, while also exhibiting The Entity’s sinister presence everywhere.

Springtrap Outfits In Dead by Daylight

Springtrap will have multiple outfits in Dead by Daylight when it officially releases on June 17th. It will have the Yellow Rabbit Legendary Outfit for Springtrap, inspired by the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie, which will feature actor Matthew Lillard’s likeness along with original voice lines recorded just for the game. Springtrap’s other main look will be the Glitchtrap Legendary Outfit, which first appeared in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted. ​ ​
