Ashen developer A44 has announced its newest game, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn. It’s a brand new, open-world action RPG that will be coming to Xbox, PlayStation and PC later this year. While both generations of consoles will see the release, Xbox users will reap the benefit of being able to play the game day one with Game Pass.

The studio states that “The Door to the Afterlife has been opened, allowing the old God’s army of the undead to escape from within. The living are on the brink of extinction. It’s time for the coalition army to retake their world. Embrace vengeance, gunpowder and magic and embark on an epic journey to lead mankind’s final siege against the tide of the dead.” If that combination of guns and magic sounds familiar, it’s because Spyders did something similar with its action RPG Greedfall.

We are going to be able to play across a number of different areas such as desert, abandoned city and caverns. There will be side quests, an immersive story and more while we try to rebuild the blackstream sappers. The trailer was released directly to IGN, and you can check it out below. No information on release date is available yet, but it will be out later this year according to the developer. If you haven’t already done so, be sure to check out A44’s game Ashen, which is also on Game Pass at the moment.
