Footage Leaks Online For Jet Set Radio & Persona 3 Remakes

Amid the height of recent Sega releases – Sonic Frontiers and the developing ports for Persona 3 – 5 – there are more planned for these IPs alongside other franchises that were blanketed over time. In one report, Persona 6 is said to already be in active development. The same claim also lists Persona 3 receiving a full-on remake is in the pipeline as well. However, that is only the tip of the iceberg.

Additionally, Sega is planning to resurrect two of its legacy properties. From Bloomberg, it is understood that Jet Set Radio & Crazy Taxi are being remade as well. Howbeit, there was no tangible evidence regarding gameplay or when to expect the full release. As for Persona 3 Remake, this resurfaced earlier in 2023 following the game’s re-release for major consoles with Persona 3 Portable being the chosen candidate.

Now in a string of leaks collected by user Angie via ResetEra, it is believed genuine footage for Persona 3 Remake & Jet Set Radio has surfaced online. From @AVtoGAMEnoYAMI shared the initial footage of the Persona remake last week and on Sunday confirmed the video alongside other renders are from a 2021 internal meeting at Sega including Jet Set Radio and Sonic Frontiers.

Now this leaves many to question what is truly legitimate or simply fabricated. From Gematsu, it is believed that Persona 3 Remake is likely footage from Sega. Sources that spoke with the outlet for multiple years corroborated on the basis that a remake is on the way for Persona 3. Additionally, Jet Set Radio has also been mentioned which aligns with current speculation too.

As for Sonic Frontiers, the footage is pre-alpha from an earlier build that was reworked for the retail version. But, while the visual bump is not the version fans are familiar with, there is a new finding on the developing game. One user on Twitter uncovered the spin dash is mentioned in the source code and game director Morio Kishimoto confirms that the feature plans to be implemented in Update 2 for the main game.
