The first wave of invites for the mobile version of Epic Games’ Fortnite is going out to players who signed up to test the game. Players who have been selected should have an email from Epic inviting them to download the game from Apple’s App Store.
Epic said that this is the “first round of invites for the Fortnite Invite Event on iOS.” The company said it will send out additional invites to players “in the coming days and weeks, so if you don’t get one right away, don’t worry.” Players can still register for an invite at the Fortnite website.
Fortnite on iOS is a 2 GB download and requires an invite from Epic (or a friend) to play. Epic says the iOS version “is in an early state and we look forward to your feedback as we iterate and improve.” The mobile version is compatible with Fortnite version 3.3, which today introduced Supply Llamas and the new remote explosive weapon.
Here’s a look at the game’s touchscreen controls, if you’re curious about how Fortnite is playable on an iPhone:
The iOS version requires iOS 11 running on an iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad 2017 devices or later, according to the App Store listing.
