We knew Forza Motorsport 7 would be a large file size with 700 cars included, but 100 GB at launch? That’s a different story.
The listing over at the Microsoft store (Via MsPowerUser) shows the file size. The size has been removed from the US store for now, but a screen shot is included below showing that the estimated size is indeed 100 GB. This would make Forza Motorsport 7 the largest launch game ever on any console. For comparison purposes, Halo 5 was just over 50 GB at launch and is currently over 100 but that is with a number of patches. Once you add in the car pass and extras that will be included post launch, Forza Motorsport 7 could push 200 GB in file size.
It’s not only the cars, however, that make up for the massive download size either. With Forza being a first party Microsoft title, that means the game will run at 4K and 60fps. All of this takes up much more space than your standard HD game, of course.
Forza Motorsport 7 launches on both Xbox One and Windows 10 as a Play Anywhere title on October 3rd, 2017. Those who pre-order the game can get access to it a few days early on September 29th.
Make sure you have an extra, external HDD handy!
