More than three years ago, Turn 10 Studios & Xbox Game Studios announced Forza Motorsport. After some time since Forza Motorsport 7, it was decided that the game studio would return to its roots to ship an authentic racing sim which drew fans initially. For this year’s installment, the 2023 No. 01 Cadillac Racing V-Series.R & 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray are confirmed to be the cover cars for Forza Motorsport.
Even more, Microsoft is planning to truly platform Forza Motorsport with the new release nearing. In that, a leak online revealed a specialized Xbox Series X|S controller themed after Forza Motorsport is on the way. Additionally, pre-orders went live this week and those that pre-order the Premium Edition or Xbox Game Pass users that upgrade the Premium add-on can jump in five-days early.
As part of the same Xbox Wire blog post, it is also confirmed that cross-play & cross-progression is to be supported for the first time for both Xbox as well as PC.
Starting today, PC players can pre-order Forza Motorsport on Steam and play up to 5 days early from October 5 by pre-purchasing the Premium Edition. With cross-play for online matchmaking and cross-save, you can play with your friends across PC and console and for the first time, continue your racing journey across Xbox Series X|S and Steam with shared progression and achievement unlocks.
Turn 10 Studios Forza Motorsport creative director Chris Esaki continues: “We’ve optimized Forza Motorsport to look and play great across a wide range of PCs, taking advantage of cutting-edge PC hardware and technologies with real-time ray tracing on-track and maximum performance enabled by NVIDIA DLSS 2 and AMD FSR 2.2. We will continue to optimize and improve Forza Motorsport on PC after launch.
