Friday The 13th Films Composer Reveals New Video Game Is In Development

Of course, many players are familiar with the previous Gun Media release, Friday the 13th: The Video Game. Whilst enjoyed by many of its avid users, the game has faced plenty of uncertainty in recent years. Back in 2018, the title was walled from adding more content due to trademarks butting heads; including even new assets like trees were exempt from this issue.

Additionally, the game despite outcry for dedicated servers were eventually pulled as Gun Media reverted back to peer-to-peer matchmaking. This month, Gun Media also announced the game will be delisted on December 31st as the license for the franchise officially expires and will pull both physical & digital versions of the game on that date.

As the team preps for its next game, Texas Chain Saw Massacre, there is another game reported to be in the works. In a new report from Rely on Horror, the outlet when speaking to Friday the 13th series composer Harry Manfredini shared a new title is in development that he is involved in. Manfredini states the game features “more realistic looking” characters and will take a different approach than the previous 2017 release.

This happens to be the second count of new Friday the 13th content to be on the way. In a previous story from Bloody Disgusting, creator Victor Miller & property owner Horror Inc. are coming to terms on their feud as both parties are in search to work on new endeavors. This includes films, television, and even video games as well.

Elsewhere, there is another cult-followed film that is being adapted into a video game as well. Last summer, Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game was announced as a new asymmetrical multiplayer title from Teravision Games. You can read the full report by heading here.
