Future Call of Duty games won’t have exclusive content for a platform

Since Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard, there has been discussion that maybe there will be more exclusive content coming to Xbox for games like Call of Duty, Overwatch, and others. In a recent podcast, the Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer brought up the idea of exclusive content like skins and even early beta access only through one platform for Call of Duty.

Talking on the official Xbox podcast hosted by Jeff Rubenstein, Phil confirmed “there will be 100% parity” on content for Call of Duty on every platform. He also said they have no goal of using Call of Duty to get customers to buy an Xbox console. Phil Spencer also talks about how he wants the community to feel included and doesn’t want anyone left out.

With the most recent Modern Warfare III Beta, the first weekend was exclusive to PlayStation and Phil Spencer also confirmed in future Betas that all platforms will have access at the same time.

Before the Activision Blizzard Acquisition, it was already confirmed that Modern Warfare III would not join Xbox Game Pass in 2023.
