Gamescom 2018: Shenmue III Release Date Announced

Announced the same day as the re-release of Shenmue I & II for modern consoles, Shenmue III was revealed to release August 27, 2019, for PlayStation 4 and PC.

Since its initial 2015 reveal, the upcoming game has been on an bumpy road with development. Previously delayed into 2019, fans were unaware when they would be able to return to the “legendary” series. Developer Ys Net, along with Deep Silver, announced that more time was needed to polish and fine tune the game to meet the “high standards” they want for the game’s release.

The Kickstarted title, within a short amount of time, was able to surpass its $2 million goal and development for it started soon after.
