Supermassive Games, the studio behind Until Dawn and its VR prequel Inpatient, has revealed their upcoming title releasing next year.

Man of Medan introduces a group of friends as they embark on a trip to retrieve ‘sunken treasure’ from an ocean-consumed plane crash, which inadvertently awakens an entity that was most likely better left alone. This is the first in a series of games from the developer being dubbed The Dark Pictures Anthology, which will feature a line of standalone horror titles.

With Man of Medan the first of many titles expected to come, it will be interesting to see how this affects the horror game genre as a whole. Unsure what the studio has planned after the first installment, it’s safe to say from seeing how Until Dawn was received, fans will be eager for more. Unlike the studio’s two previous titles, Man of Medan will be multi-platform.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in 2019.
