With the Olympic Games just around the corner next year residing in Tokyo, Japan for 2020, Sega & Nintendo of course are working to bring the latest iteration of the crossover Olympic sports game for the latest hardware. However, Sega has revealed today that a new and very awesome for the approaching title will also be coming with the game later this November.
In the latest trailer for Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, Sega introduces the 2D Events feature: which as it reads, offers some of the Olympic Games that will be playable in game, but in the traditional 2D view with character sprites and all.
Through this new gameplay element, Sega shares that fans will be able to play up to ten different events when choosing the classic 2D events. This applies to rowing, wrestling, volleyball, diving, gymnastics, and running. And for someone that never touched the Olympic Games series, this does grab my attention quite a bit with the feature being an option.
Alike the previous installments that released before, this upcoming Tokyo 2020 will be coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch on November 5, 2019 in North and South America. Europe will receive a release later on November 8, 2019.
Are you excited about the new feature for the Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020?
