Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts 3 launched nearly two months ago and it is best assumed fans who have waited the past decade for the third installment have already finished the game on the hardest difficulty. And are patiently sticking around for the series’ Critical Mode to drop to bring a bigger challenge to the table.
According to the game’s Co-Director Tai Yasue, the fan-favorite difficulty mode is on the way and will offer players more than just buffing the enemies damage. At this year’s annual Game Developers Conference, Yasue shared that the soon approaching mode will differ as it is “more technical and offensive”. Followed up with a comment that Critical Mode for Kingdome Hearts 3 will push players to change up how they already play prior to the mode’s debut.
It was already reported weeks before that Critical Mode is already in the works for the new title. But with previous Kingdom Hearts games, the mode tends to release with the final mix iteration. Implying that we could possibly be seeing that version of the game sooner than we expected or just for Critical Mode to release ahead of it. Currently there is no word on if this is true or not.
