As of late, the chatter behind Borderlands is in regards to the upcoming live-action film at Sony Pictures. Last week, the first official trailer for the movie arrived and for many appears to answer what many would hope the movie to be. Of course, it is set to release later this year on August 9th nearing the tail end of the summer.
Additionally, the team at Gearbox Software is reported to already be busy with a new entry. After release New Tales of the Borderlands, many were interested the direction the new game will head. In one report previously, voice actor Angie Jho Lee is said to be voicing a character for ‘Borderlands 4’ according to a finding on LinkedIn then.
When speaking on behalf of the upcoming film, Gearbox founder Randy Pitchford does acknowledge a new game is in the works. Although he does not confirm that the game is Borderlands 4, he tells IGN that the team is busy with something in the pipeline and it’s its most impressive project yet.
“Look, we haven’t even announced anything of it. Clearly, we’re working on something. And I know what we’re working on, and holy shit… It’s the greatest thing we’ve ever done. And I can’t wait, but it’s not time yet. It’s not time yet. There will be a time.” While not set in stone, it is clear the IP is to continue as previously stated via a statement from Gearbox following its acquisition in 2021 prior.
Amid the wait for the next entry, we urge you read our review for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. “Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a great return to form. It evolves and modernizes the core gameplay experience.
