Just earlier this week, it was revealed that Ubisoft will be hosting a world premiere for the next installment in the Ghost Recon franchise the following Thursday. Now that day has arrived and the new title inbound for later this year in fact, is Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
Set on an island in the Pacific Ocean, Auroa is inhabited by one of Silicon Valley’s most deadliest weapons as Skell Technologies takes hold of the new locale. After being dropped and injured on the isle, you must explore the uncharted island while overcoming one of the toughest factions the Ghosts have encountered, The Wolves.
Comprised of ex-Ghost operatives, you face those who have experienced the same training and tactics that make you a Ghost while exploring the mix of biomes that make Auroa a unique from any other setting in the series. Colonel Cole D. Walker from Operation Oracle takes the helm of the main faction as him and his army of ex-military control the drones that live on the island.
The new tactical experience just like Ghost Recon Wildlands can be experienced in either a solo or cooperative experience that up to four players can endure. From butting heads with ex-Ghosts to creating allies with the other inhabiting factions to even PvP matchmaking, there will be plenty to take in once Breakpoint is released.
Post-launch content is promised to be supported just like its predecessor with free updates, new classes, more features, and additional story arcs down the line. More events will be inbound for the open-world experience as well as introducing raids to the mix as part of the game’s endgame plans.
Alongside the game’s reveal, Ubisoft has announced that a beta for the game will be coming ahead of the title’s launch. For when we can expect to get our early hands on with the game has yet to be detailed. Those who pre-order the game will instantly gain access to the beta, but don’t worry, the playtest is open to the public, but spots are limited.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on October 4, 2019.
