Being one of the frontrunners for the next-generation, specifically the PlayStation 5, many fans looked in the direction of Counterplay Games’ Godfall. Also being co-developed by Borderlands developer Gearbox Software, the game was frame to be a “looter-slasher” that would offer its players plenty of variety in gameplay as they grind for better items in-game. However, the game only stood to be unique to PlayStation 5 in terms of consoles.
While there is a PC version on Epic Games Store, Xbox is currently out of the picture. But, that will not be forever. In fact, the launch trailer for Godfall reveals that the game will be unique to PlayStation 5 until May 2021. Fairly odd for a six-month deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment as most games sign-up for an entire year.
And now with less than a week until the new month, a new rating uncovered by Gematsu over on Pans European Game Information (PEGI), Godfall received a new rating for PlayStation 4. “Action role playing game in which the player takes on the role of the last of the Valorian knights who must travel through various realms to prevent an apocalyptic event,” the outline reads for the rating.
Most surprising is that the game is receiving a last-generation port. Presuming that the game launched for PlayStation 5, the title would be expected to get versions for Xbox Series X & Xbox Series S. Nonetheless, the new finding on PEGI does possibly implicate that Godfall might receive an Xbox One version atop of its newer iteration that released last fall.
In a similar tense, the same is also expected for Final Fantasy VII Remake as well in the approaching future. During its decided launch that delayed the game to April 2020, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Square Enix extended the game’s exclusivity to PlayStation for a full year which already was full fulfilled at the start of April.
