In the things all being 007, the films still roll out periodically with Daniel Craig currently donning the James Bond roll. However, the games are a different story. Whilst a new title has yet to hit the newest consoles, there is a titanic project on the way. In that, IO Interactive – best known for the latest Hitman trilogy – is working on a new game.

The firm shared in an interview previously that this ambition is aimed to evolve into a full-on trilogy later down the road. So far, no progress has been revealed regarding the approach or sparing details on a release date. Howbeit, there is one game beloved by many on the way: Goldeneye 007. It was confirmed the game will be coming to Xbox Game Pass.

Additionally, it was also slated for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack as well in 2022. On Wednesday, Microsoft & Rare announced the game is to officially arrive for Xbox Game Pass on January 27th. You can watch the release date trailer in the video below:

“The version of GoldenEye 007 set to appear on Xbox Game Pass is the classic game that made waves in 1997, based on the movie that introduced audiences to a thrilling new era of James Bond.” Rare studio head Craig Duncan writes in the announcement post. Of course, this will be a free addition to current Rare Replay owners as well.

“It comes packed with objective-based stealth shooter gameplay and, of course, a legendary local multiplayer mode for split-screen showdowns with friends. It also offers a few key additions for a modern audience, including alternative control options, achievements to unlock and native 16:9 resolution up to 4K Ultra HD (where supported).”
