As the date draws closer towards the release for Beenox’s Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled, the developer revealed that a care package of free content will be dropping in seasonal routines as part of the post-launch plans for the approaching reworked racer. Earlier this week a video was uploaded revealing that the cost-free DLC will be offered through the Grand Prix which will offer new items as well as a new map for each one.
Starting on July 3rd, the first Grand Prix will kick off with Twilight Tour; the track is said to be a combination between both Ancient Egypt and Arabian Town from 1998’s Crash Bandicoot: Warped.
The Grand Prix will offer challenges for players to beat in return for Nitro Points which can unlock items like customization parts, karts, and new characters. The most eye gripping reveal from the trailer that the purple dragon Spyro was revealed to be some of the “hot new racers” that will be rewarded for completing these challenges.
Debuting the first Season of downloadable content, Beenox revealed that Tawna Bandicoot will be joining the game’s roster as well as other faces like Ami, Isabella, Liz, and Megumi. Unlocking all five will form the Nitro Squad, formerly known as the Trophy Girls in the initial Crash Team Racing.
In related news, it was revealed that Spyro will finally be coming to both Nintendo Switch as well as PC at some point in the coming future.
Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled is set to release on June 21, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
