The atmosphere surrounding Rockstar Games’ 2008 released title Grand Theft Auto IV turned sour as of recently when users discovered that the game would be delisted from Steam earlier this year. It was explained that the reasoning for the decision is due to the support being severed for Games for Windows Live by Microsoft.

In light of the disappointing news for Steam users, it was revealed in a new report that the game will in fact be returning with a few tweaks. According to Eurogamer, Grand Theft Auto IV will ship on Steam under the ‘Complete Edition’ alias this time around.

However, what is reported to be changed for the game is nothing close to fulfilling. It is said that the newer iteration of the open-world action title will not feature multiplayer as it did previously. Additionally, the video game outlet also disclosed that some of the listed radio stations initially featured in the game will also be missing in the Complete Edition as well.

It is listed that Ramjam FM, Self-Actualization AM, and Vice City FM will be “temporarily unavailable.” Other online tracking elements like unique player leaderboards will also be missing from the newer version for Grand Theft Auto IV on Steam. Upon the commencement of the Complete Edition returning to Steam, the game will also be updated on the Rockstar Games Launcher as well.

Owners of the game on either platform will have to install the new client which will implement these changes when launching the game whilst connected to the internet. Rockstar Games shares that those who acquired the game via Games for Windows Live will have to create a Social Club account/sign-in to update the game. Furthermore, the developer does reassure that save files for the game from the previous version will be compatible after updating to the Complete Edition.
