One of the biggest upsets on behalf of Sony Interactive Entertainment is the closure of developer Japan Studio. The PlayStation developer was most notable for its efforts on Knack, Astro’s Playroom, and Gravity Rush. And despite a rich portfolio of releases, the game studio was shuttered previously in April 2021. However, some of its properties are to live onward.
In one report, it was said a Gravity Rush animated film was underway at PlayStation Productions & Sony Pictures. Among other video game adaptations already confirmed, it was another welcomed addition to the list. It was not until CES this past January that Sony officially shared a brief glimpse at the new movie for the game series.
According to a new string of rumors online, Gravity Rush 2 is said to be on the way for a remaster for PlayStation 5 as well as PC. This comes from leaker Orangee – the initial leaker that mentioned the CES tease – via the Team Alua Gravity Rush Discord server. It is said the game is planned for a summer release later this year.
“If everything goes along with the schedule, then it’s going to be a late summer release,” the user writes. Adding: “Expect some news in May. […] it’s also coming to PC at a later date.” The leaker also indicates a photo mode is also being prepared for the 2017 title as well. “GR2R will have a proper photo mode, at least they are testing it.”
Similarly, we are seeing another legacy PlayStation title get a PlayStation 5/PC remaster this year. Recently, it was announced that Ballistic Moon is working on Until Dawn coming to newer platforms. You can read the full report by heading here.
