Gravity Rush Is Another PlayStation IP To Receive A Film Adaptation, Report Says

For PlayStation Pictures, the firm has yet to officially kick off its multi-franchise plan for the armada of video game properties vaulted over at Sony Interactive Entertainment, but its first release so far has been a success. With the release of Uncharted in theaters in the winter, the movie went on to receive confidence from Sony Pictures to likely pursue a trilogy later down the road.

Additionally, production is shaping up for HBO’s The Last of Us. In that, a recent promotion video showcased roughly half a minute of footage for the upcoming television series starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. The HBO Max exclusive while not given a direct release date as of yet is slated for 2023 at the very least.

In a recent report from Deadline, it is reported Gravity Rush will be added to the line of other productions underway. Director Anna Mastro (Secret Society of Second Born Royals, Walter) is attached for the role alongside Emily Jerome (Panopticon) who is to pen the script for the new project. Details remain light in terms of the production team and even more with the ultimate direction if it well be live-action or an animated feature similar to the titular game.

Alongside Gravity Rush receiving a film adaptation, Deadline recently reported that Days Gone is another video game series from Sony Interactive Entertainment being pursued as well from PlayStation Productions. In that, Outlander producer Sam Heughan is said to take on the same role for the new project whilst being casted for protagonist Deacon as well. You can read the full report by heading here.
