Grounded has been out since 2020 where it was in Early Access for a number of years until recently in September when it saw its full release. Recently, Obsidian Entertainment announced Grounded: Playgrounds which comes with many new additions to the game.
A level editor that is similar to what Forge is in Halo will be joining Grounded allowing you to craft your own levels from the ground up. You’ll be able to place AI, battle arenas, mini-games, and create puzzles. There is no limit to the number of objects you can place. Along with this new update, there are hundreds of system changes and improvements to Grounded.
The Grounded Game Director, Adam Brennecke talked about how Grounded: Playgrounds was a long time coming.
“This feature has been on the backlog for a very long time,” Brennecke says. “Giving people the opportunity to extend the lifetime of the games they enjoy is always really cool, which was very important to us. We’ve always wanted to see what the community can make with these tools.”
