Rewinding to March this year, Grand Theft Auto V launched, again. Yes, the 2013 title arrived with a truly native port of the original game to Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5 at the time. With it came visual improvements, new load times, and the long-and-necessary 60hz support for the title. Additionally, elements of raytracing was included as well.
That same month, Rockstar Games introduced GTA+: a new subscription for active users to join for monthly in-game benefits. From free GTA$ each month to exclusive deals, it is for the ultimate GTA Online players. Speaking of the online surface of GTA V, the game welcomed a new ‘The Criminal Enterprise’ update which brings new content as it spins its own story on the growing inflation of today’s global market.
Now this week, the new ‘Los Santos Drug Wars’ update has went live bringing a new story with a cast of fresh characters and everyone’s favorite Blaine County-based Ron making an appearance. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
“Introducing Los Santos Drug Wars, the opening chapter in a mind-expanding new GTA Online story update featuring a ragtag crew of new arrivals led by Dax, a man-on-the-edge with high hopes of dosing the world, getting rich, and climbing to the top of the Southern San Andreas criminal food chain,” the description for the new update reads.
“Experience six wild new story missions as you help an outlandish group of new arrivals to Southern San Andreas establish a fledgling business venture running high-grade hallucinogenics out of a new mobile headquarters. Plus, expand your fleet of classic and contemporary rides, and so much more in the first part of Los Santos Drug Wars.” Noted, this is the “first part” of what will be expanded later on.
For fans outside of the loop, dozens of clips of what appears to be genuine gameplay for the next unannounced Grand Theft Auto game leaked online. It included several moments of pre-alpha gameplay for the new title including the two reported male & female leads for the upcoming game. You can read the full report by heading here.
